Meet Vader and Rey, the shop cats at Philly’s Thunderbird Salvage

Vader and Rey like to spend their time exploring Thunderbird Salvage, which sells a hodgepodge of antique furniture, vintage clothes, and quirky home decor. Vader recently commandeered a sled as a bed, while Rey learned how to climb ladders to study better hide-and-seek locations. In the ShopCats app tote bag design, Rey can be found in her signature green bandana working the register while Vader — outfitted in a baseball cat and sweater — can be found working the sales floor. The illustration also situates Thunderbird Salvage and its stained glass windows inside a treasure chest, which owner George Mathes said was one of his favorite parts. “It perfectly describes us,” said Mathes. “We’re full of treasure.”
