What I Do

I work with our talented journalists across the newsroom to help ensure that The Inquirer provides news and information that is revealing, smart, timely, useful, and sometimes even delightful to readers across the Philadelphia region and beyond. Always on the lookout for great stories and storytellers.

My Background

I came to The Inquirer as Health and Science Editor in 2015, intrigued by Philadelphia's reputation as the "eds and meds" capital of the nation. The city, The Inquirer, and my colleagues all exceeded my high expectations then and keep doing so every day. After a few years, I added Business coverage to my portfolio, and became Managing Editor in 2022.

Before Philly, I spent most of my career at the Tampa Bay Times (formerly the St. Petersburg Times) in Florida. As a reporter and then as an editor, my beats have included local government, statewide politics, higher education, arts and entertainment, and health — in fact, I got a master's degree in public health because that's the one beat I knew I'd need serious help figuring out.

I grew up mostly in Pittsburgh, but I've come to truly prefer Philadelphia. I live in Mount Airy and enjoy getting out on hikes and bike rides all over the region.
