Under the Sun provides the perspective of Pulitzer Prize-winning Inquirer editorial page editor Harold Jackson on important political and social news affecting the Philadelphia region and the nation, with an emphasis on civil rights and minorities. Harold Jackson, winner of the 1991 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing, grew up in Birmingham, Ala., and was the first black student in the University of Alabama's high school journalism workshop. He has also been a reporter and editor at the Birmingham Post-Herald, United Press International, the Birmingham News, and the Baltimore Sun. A former Freedom Forum journalist in residence at the University of Alabama, Jackson also taught journalism at Loyola College of Maryland.
