A prominent member of the violent West Philadelphia gang the Young Bag Chasers, or YBC, pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to illegal gun possession — the latest conviction in a string of cases law enforcement officials have built against purported members of YBC and rival groups.

Kasim Brown, aka FSdaBender or “Fat Seem,” pleaded guilty to one count of illegal gun possession during a hearing before U.S. District Judge Joel H. Slomsky.

Prosecutors said in court documents that Brown — who is barred from possessing guns because of a felony conviction — was caught on surveillance video in July 2025 carrying a Glock pistol during a robbery of the MilkBoy music studio in North Philadelphia. Investigators noticed the distinct tattoo “BEYOND BLESSED” on Brown’s left hand, the records said.

After the robbery, prosecutors said, authorities obtained a warrant for Brown’s apartment and cell phone, and discovered video clips on his phone from the date of the robbery that showed him holding the gun.

Brown was arrested last September, court records show. He has remained in federal custody ever since.

Brown has grown a following online and in the drill rap world in recent years for his brash style and explicit lyrics that describe shootings and mock YBC’s alleged victims.

Philadelphia law enforcement has been monitoring Brown for years as part of ongoing investigations into YBC. In a separate indictment brought by Philadelphia prosecutors earlier this year, Brown was accused of shooting three people in the Parkside section of the city — as well as two other shootings — in 2022 and 2023.

Those cases remain pending trial.

In the federal case, Brown is scheduled to be sentenced by Slomsky in June.
