JERSEY CITY, N.J. - A West New York man who raped his teenage daughter repeatedly over several years and ordered her to throw two newborn babies he fathered down an air shaft was sentenced yesterday to 35 years in prison.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. - A West New York man who raped his teenage daughter repeatedly over several years and ordered her to throw two newborn babies he fathered down an air shaft was sentenced yesterday to 35 years in prison.
The 45-year-old man, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated sexual assault.
Superior Court Judge Kevin G. Callahan imposed the maximum sentence available.
"These are heinous, cruel and depraved acts committed against your own flesh and blood," Callahan said.
According to prosecutors, the father ordered his daughter to throw the babies down the shaft, threatening to kill her and her mother if she did not. *
