Drugs blamed for baby's death

HAZLETON, Pa. - A Hazleton woman is accused of crushing her infant son by rolling on top of him while she was asleep last year.

Authorities say in court papers that 22-year-old Heather Breeland was drunk and under the influence of cocaine at the time of the Sept. 27, 2006, death.

Breeland was charged yesterday with involuntary manslaughter and other offenses in the death of her 21-day-old son, Joseph. She was held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 15. *
