Before its July 4 concert, Wawa Welcome America will host concerts with Queen Latifah, Eve, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and more
Fireworks, street fairs, trapeze rides, and music from the likes for Kirk Franklin, Idina Menzel, Pink Sweat$, Philly Pops, and more.

Wawa Welcome America has announced the musical headliners for the concerts in this year’s Semiquincentennial celebrating festival.
All the headliners, except the ones that will be on the bill for the July 4 concert on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Those will be announced in the coming weeks.
Welcome America starts well before that, however, kicking off on June 19 for a Juneteenth block party outside the African American Museum and running up to running up to a Philly Pops performance at Independence National Historical Park on July 3.
Here is the info on all the concerts, in chronological order:
Juneteenth block party
DJ Jazzy Jeff will headline as the principal party starter at this daytime event. Live bands will also perform, and Black-owned businesses will have merchandise and food for sale. African American Museum in Philadelphia, June 19, 12-5 p.m., 7th and Arch St.
Philly Fair 250
This fair weekend will feature food trucks from the original 13 colonies, hot air balloons, and a trapeze ride. On Saturday, Philly bass player and bandleader Gerald Veasley will present his Unscripted Jazz Series and on Sunday, Philly and South Jersey raised R&B singer Pink Sweat$ will perform. June 20-22, Centennial District, near the Philadelphia Zoo, Please Touch Museum, and Mann Center for the Performing Arts.
Celebration of Black Music Month
June is Black Music Month, thanks to Philly radio host and musical mover and shaker Dyana Williams, who founded the concept in the 1970s. This year it will be celebrated with fireworks and by Philly-born and now Britain-based rapper Eve, once known as the “Pitbull in a skirt” and the “First Lady” of the late DMX’s Ruff Ryders crew. June 25, 4-9 p.m. Dell Music Center, 2400 Strawberry Mansion Drive.
Concilio’s annual Hispanic festival
The headliner at this dance concert is Olga Tañón, the merengue singer from Santurce, Puerto Rico who is known as “Mujer de Fuego” or “Woman of Fire.” She’s a Grammy and Latin Grammy winner and won a Billboard Latin Women of Music Lifetime Achievement Award last year. June 27, 2-9 p.m., Love Park, 16th and JFK Boulevard.
Gospel on Independence
Gospel star, producer, and choir leader Kirk Franklin will lead this praise music celebration. June 28, 7-9 p.m., Independence National Historical Park.
Philadelphia Orchestra Pride concert
The Orchestra will be led by guest conductor Carolyn Kuan and feature the ANNA Crusis Feminist Choir, Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus, Philadelphia Voices of Pride, and the Transcendent Choir of Philadelphia. Drag performer Trixie Mattel hosts. June 30, 7 p.m., Kimmel Center, 300 South Broad Street.
Salute to service
Queen Latifah headlines this show, which will also include the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus, and a performance by Cassie Donegan, who is Miss America 2026. July 2, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Independence National Historical Park, 6th and Market St.
Liberty Medal Ceremony
Villanova University grad Pope Leo is being awarded the Liberty Medal. The bishop of Rome won’t be in attendance physically, but will deliver remarks virtually. July 3, time TBA, Independence National Historical Park, 6th and Market St.
Pops on Independence
Tony-winning Broadway star and actress Idina Menzel will sing with the Philly Pops. July 3, 7-9 p.m., Independence National Historic Park, 6th and Market Sts.
