Wegmans brand of finishing butter recalled because of listeria concern in one ingredient
The 3.5-ounce tubs of Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter have been recalled because the dill may be contaminated with listeria.

Epicurean Butter of Thornton, Colorado, has recalled its 3.5-ounce tubs of Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter because the dill may be contaminated with listeria.
The dill was recalled by SupHerb Farms “because it has the potential to be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” according to an announcement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The finishing butter was distributed to Wegmans stores in Pennsylvania as well as New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.
The recalled tubs are all item number 44324 with a UPC number of 0 77890 44324 8.
The lot numbers are 16314, 16357, 16438, 16536, 16619, 16702, 16722, 16761, 16797, 16829, 16902 and 17037. The expiration dates are between July 5, 2022, and Nov. 17, 2022.
No illnesses in connection to the butter have been reported.
Epicurean said the the herb supplier had notified it “that certain lots of frozen dill could potentially be contaminated with listeria based upon a test from one of the supplier’s food manufacturing customers in Canada that used the ingredient in one of their finished products.”
People who bought the butter can return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
