The Philadelphia-to-Syracuse football recruiting pipeline is alive and well.

On Saturday, Philly native Charlie Foulke announced on X that he has committed to Fran Brown and the Orange. Foulke, a junior who recently transferred to Glassboro High School, spent the past two seasons as the starting quarterback for St. Joseph’s Prep, where he led the Hawks to the PIAA 6A state title in 2024 and was named the 6A Player of the Year.

“After a lot of thought and prayer, I’m blessed to announce that I am 100% committed to playing Division 1 football at Syracuse University. Grateful for this opportunity and ready to work,” Foulke posted on X.

Ranked a three-star recruit in the 2027 class by both 247 Sports and ESPN, Foulke will be just the latest in a growing list of players with local ties to join Brown, a Camden native, in Central New York. He’s not the first quarterback either, as former St. Joe’s Prep signal-caller Kyle McCord flourished in his lone season (2024) under Brown and Syracuse offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon after transferring from Ohio State. McCord, who was drafted by the Eagles in 2025, recently signed with the Green Bay Packers.

After throwing for 2,400 yards and 34 touchdowns as a sophomore, Foulke threw for 1,988 yards and 30 scores as a junior, according to EasternPAFootball.com, as the Hawks regressed to a 5-5 record. He played at St. Joe’s Prep with wide receiver Jett Harrison, a top-10 recruit in the 2028 class. Harrison’s father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison, played his college ball at Syracuse.

Foulke, the second QB commit for Syracuse in 2028, chose the Orange over schools like Charlotte, Georgia, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and others.

“When I was up there, I loved the atmosphere,” Foulke told 247 Sports of Syracuse. “The coaches, the players, it just felt like home all around.”

In addition to Brown and Nixon, Foulke will work with new Orange QB coach Sean Ryan, who joins the program after a long career as an NFL assistant, including a stretch where he won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants.

Syracuse currently counts more than 10 players with Philadelphia/South Jersey ties.
