Authorities investigating ‘suspicious death’ at Harrah’s in Atlantic City

A death inside Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City reported this week is under investigation, authorities said Wednesday.

“Our major crimes unit responded at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday to Harrah’s,” said Donna Weaver, a spokeswoman for the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators are probing what Weaver called a “suspicious death” that happened inside a hotel room. No other details — including the identity of the dead person — were released.

A spokesman for Harrah’s parent company, Caesars Entertainment, said “the matter is an ongoing investigation and we are assisting local law enforcement.”
