A man was killed and a 10-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting in Burlington City on Friday, authorities said.

About 5:30 p.m., the man was walking on the 400 block of Saint Mary Street when he was shot by someone who fled on foot toward Route 130, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

He was taken to Virtua Willingboro Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities did not provide his name or age.

The boy “was in the area” when he was struck once in his foot “by errant gunfire,” the Prosecutor’s Office said. He is being treated at a hospital, where his injuries are not life-threatening.

Authorities didn’t report any arrests and didn’t say what prompted the shooting.

Separately, a 4-year-old girl was grazed in the back of the head by a bullet and two adults were injured after a gunman fired into a vehicle in Trenton about 9 p.m. Friday, NBC10 reported.

An 8-year-old boy was also in the vehicle but was not injured. Trenton police said the four were inside the vehicle on the 200 block of Perry Street when a gunman dressed in black fired several shots into the vehicle, the TV news station reported.

The injured adults were a woman, 30, who was shot in the upper shoulder, and a man, 34, who was hit several times in the arm and torso, according to NBC10. It was not immediately known how the victims, who were reported to be in stable condition, were related.

No arrests were reported, and no motive disclosed behind the shooting.

Spokespeople for the Trenton Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office could not be immediately reached Saturday morning.
