Suspect found dead after woman shot in Montgomery County

A woman was found shot multiple times inside a house in the 1500 block of Arline Avenue in Abington Township early Sunday morning, according to police. Several hours later, the suspected gunman was found dead in his car, an apparent suicide, they said.

The unidentified woman was taken to Abington-Jefferson Health in stable condition shortly after 4 a.m., authorities said.

Police said that the gunman was known to the woman and fled the shooting scene before law enforcement authorities arrived. After a search of several hours, the man was found dead in his car at an undisclosed location. Police did not provide his name.
