Two people dead after car hits tree in Fairmount Park

The car was traveling on Belmont Avenue near the intersection with Belmont Mansion Drive when it crashed shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

A man and woman died after the car they were in crashed into a tree late Saturday morning on the west side of Fairmount Park in West Philadelphia.

The car was traveling on Belmont Avenue near the intersection with Belmont Mansion Drive when the accident occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m.

The man and woman, whom police did not identify Saturday, were pronounced dead at the scene.
