4-alarm warehouse fire in Port Richmond under control
The 4-alarm fire started at around 7:30 p.m. at Sepviva and East Butler Streets.

A four-alarm fire broke out Sunday night on the first floor of a vacant warehouse in Port Richmond, officials said.
The blaze started around 7:22 p.m. at Sepviva and East Butler Streets and was placed under control just before 10 p.m., according to Kathy Matheson, spokesperson for the Philadelphia Fire Department.
It was unclear whether anyone was in the building at the time, said Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel, but no injuries had been reported as of late Sunday evening.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. The building, which partially collapsed during the blaze, had housed several businesses, including a thrift store.
Thiel said he expected fire crews to continue their work at the scene through early Monday.
“We’ll be here all night,” he said. “This is going to be a long-duration operation.”
