A 34-year-old Camden County tire shop employee was arrested Saturday after police said he threatened his store manager with a gun during an argument.

Officers arrested Dean O. Hardwick, of Gloucester Township, after receiving reports that he was brandishing a gun at the Mavis Discount Tire, on the 500 block of Berlin-Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville.

Investigators said Hardwick, an employee of the business who had stormed out during an earlier argument with his manager over his job performance, threatened to return with something for his boss. When he showed up again, police said, he pulled a loaded handgun from his sweatshirt pocket in front of several customers.

The store manager tackled Hardwick and wrestled the gun from his hand, police said. No one was injured during the episode.

Hardwick faces charges including illegal possession of a weapon, making terroristic threats, and simple assault. As of Sunday afternoon, he remained in custody at the Camden County jail.
