A Philadelphia police officer was injured when his vehicle was hit by a dirt bike Saturday afternoon while he was making an arrest on Broad Street near Spring Garden.

At about 4:30 p.m., a sergeant and two police officers assigned to the civil affairs unit were sitting at a red light in an unmarked black Chevrolet Malibu when they were rear-ended by a dirt bike.

The injured police officer was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was expected to be treated and released.
