Potentially damaging heavy rains, winds forecast overnight

Heavy rains and high winds are expected to move in overnight Sunday into Monday morning with the potential to cause damage, according to the National Weather Service.

The forecast calls for a line of “strong to severe” thunderstorms through dawn that could result in downed trees, power outages and flooding.

It will be a mild night, with a low around 60, but winds from the south are expected to gust as high as 30 mph.

The chance of thunderstorms should end before 8 a.m. Monday. Temperatures will then fall to around 54 with continued winds, increasing up to 25 mph by afternoon, and gusts of up to 41 mph.

Monday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a low of 41.
