A Burlington woman was struck and killed early Saturday morning by a vehicle that then fled the scene.

Burlington Township police said Rochelle Ritter, 46, suffered fatal injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle in the area of Campus Drive and Sunset Road just past 2 a.m. Passersby found the woman and called 911, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said investigators have determined the vehicle — which “may have been a tractor-trailer or box truck” — was traveling north on Campus Drive toward Route 130.

Officials are asking anyone with information relative to the investigation to contact either Burlington Township Police Officer Matthew Kochis at 609-386-2019 or mkochis101@burltwppd.com or Detective Ruben Ortiz-Cruz from the Investigations Bureau at 609-239-5889 or rortizcruz95@burltwppd.com.
