Substitute teacher charged with sexually assaulting a student in South Jersey
Kameelah Kareem, of Willingoro, had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student she met at the Alternative School at Bookbinder in Willingboro, Burlington County authorities said.
A 41-year-old South Jersey woman has been charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy when she was a substitute teacher last year at the Alternative School at Bookbinder in Willingboro, authorities said Friday.
Kameelah Kareem, of Willingoro, was taken into custody Wednesday and released Thursday after a hearing in Superior Court, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said. She is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Reached by phone Friday, Kareem declined to comment.
The Prosecutor’s Office said its investigation began last month after authorities learned of the inappropriate relationship and discovered that Kareem had assaulted the student on multiple occasions outside of the school during the 2019-20 school year.
