The City of Philadelphia has announced possible road closures, parking restrictions, and public transportation detours in anticipation of a Phillies victory in the NLCS at Citizens Bank Park this week.

Temporary no-parking signs began going up Monday in the South Broad Street area, around City Hall, and along Frankford and Cottman Avenues. The no-parking zones went into effect at noon, the city said in a statement.

Vehicles parked in the marked zones will be relocated. Drivers who may have had their cars moved can call the police district of the area where their vehicles were parked to find its location.

In addition to parking restrictions, the city said it would put temporary traffic closures in place at the conclusion of the upcoming NLCS games. Those closures will be set up around the sports complex, and near City Hall between 13th and 15th Streets from Race to Lombard.

The city advised motorists to expect delays, and use alternate routes in order to avoid the area.

SEPTA routes may also see detours in connection with the NLCS. SEPTA riders can keep up to date on planned changes via the authority’s System Status page, or by following @SEPTA on X, formerly known as Twitter.

For public safety, the Philadelphia Police Department has also erected barricades at “key locations” in the city. The barriers were placed “based on prior experience in these situations,” the city said.

“It’s been an electrifying postseason so far, and Philadelphia is united behind our beloved Phillies as they return home for Game 6,” Mayor Jim Kenney said in a statement. “Philadelphia has some of the world’s best fans and we encourage fans to cheer on safely and responsibly and wish the Phillies good luck as this exciting series continues.”
