One of the hottest neighborhoods in Philly right now is Fishtown — and if you even needed another excuse to check out this area, there are bars that offer great drink specials during happy hour. From enjoying brews next to an arcade game to dive bars for the low-key drinkers, there’s something for everyone. Grab your squad and make way toward these locations.
Lloyd Whiskey (529 E. Girard Ave.) From Monday through Friday, this whiskey bar opens its doors with happy hour happening immediately. From 5 to 7 p.m., grab a seat and take advantage of $1 off drafts, snacks, and appetizers. For those who like their spirits, a bartender's choice cocktail is offered for $6.
Interstate Drafthouse (1235 E. Palmer St.) This chill bar attracts all kinds of folks and it's for a good reason — their food and drink menu is excellent. Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., PBR cans are $2 and drafts are $4. On Tuesdays, the joint offers $1 tacos, and Wednesdays they offer a burger and a brew for $10. Insider tip: If you haven't been here before, order a Fishtown iced tea; just don't take it out the front door.
Cedar Point Bar and Kitchen (2370 E. Norris St.) If you like a bar with space, this rustic-themed location is a good place for you. The gastropub offers two happy hours — early and late. Tuesday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m., treat yourself to $2 drafts, $1 off wines, and half-off wings. If you like your happy hour a bit on the fancy side, the bar offers $2 off Moscow Mules and Dark and Stormys as well as $8 Negronis and $9 Old Fashioned cocktails. The same deals are offered Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Barcade (1114 Frankford Ave.) A place where you can geek out and drink, too. Barcade’s happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and features $1 off beer and well drinks, as well as their version of a city wide for $7. If you’re hungry, the bar offers half-price small plates.
Loco Pez (2401 E. Norris St.) If you're in the mood for Mexican at an exceptionally discounted rate, Loco Pez's happy hour will do you just fine. For $3 you can get a draft from the bar's selection, and for $4 you can sip on a house margarita or munch on nachos for the same price.
Bottle Bar East (1308 Frankford Ave.) This bar isn't only great for its stellar bottle/can selection, but it also has an awesome happy hour. Monday through Friday, the shop offers half-off wine and drafts, $3 well drinks, and half-off appetizers. If you're craving more than little bites, all sandwiches are $2 off.
Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave.) Stephen Starr’s German-themed restaurant offers an earlier happy hour than others Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Throughout the special, grab a table, play Jenga, and sip on $5 half liters, $10 liters, and snack on sausages and pretzels for under $4.
El Bar (1356 N. Front St.) As if the prices here aren’t special enough — yes, the El Bar has a happy hour. Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the dive offers $2.50 Kenzinger drafts, 50 cents off all bottles/cans, and $5 16 ounce well drinks. If these specials don’t attract you, just order a city wide — they’re $3.50 all day.
