Old City is not only packed with history, it’s full of great restaurants, too. When the clock strikes noon and your stomach is craving a meal, dining establishments scattered through the neighborhood offer food specials, making lunch affordable and easy to choose.   Here are seven lunchtime deals:

Sassafras (48 S. 2nd St.) From noon to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday, this little bar on 2nd Street holds its weekly “Luncheon Lunacy” deal that features a single menu item or day-of special for $5.95. The only consistent menu item included is the sirloin burger, which, is incredible. That deal is offered on Tuesdays. Check the weekly menu on Facebook.

Nick’s Roast Beef Bar & Grill Old City (16 S. 2nd St.) Besides serving great roast beef sandwiches, and being home to one of the city’s best burgers, Nick’s offers daily rotating lunch specials that include a soda, and a side for $6.95. The offer is Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cuba Libre (10 S. 2nd St.) Enjoy your lunch break at this Caribbean-themed restaurant with three-course pairing menus featuring seafood ($16.50), vegetarian ($13.50), and chicken ($14.75). Deal is served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

European Republic (213 Chestnut St.) Want a quick wrap and fries on the go? This spot offers a $6.95 lunch special that includes a wrap (of choice), a soda, and an order of fries. Don’t forget to try one of their dipping sauces with your fries! The offer is sold Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until close. 

Karma (114 Chestnut St.) For the ultimate lunch: This Old City restaurant offers a lunch special for $12.95 and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet Monday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If you have kids under 8 with you, they eat for half price.

Buddakan (325 Chestnut St.) Stephen Starr's Asian-fare restaurant offers a bento box deal Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For $15, choose one item from three categories varying from a dumpling option, a salad and soup pick, and a main choice of a meat or seafood. For $20, you can add an additional item from any of the categories, or add a dessert item.

Amada (217-219 Chestnut St.) Offered Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Iron Chef Jose Garces' Spanish restaurant serves a Catalan Express featuring a choice of soup alongside either a salad or sandwich for $14.50.
