South Carolina: The Appalachian Trail State
Sounds like Alvin Greene would fit right in in Washington, not that he'll ever there:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina's surprise Democratic nominee to challenge U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint is facing a pending felony charge.
Court records show 32-year-old Alvin Greene was arrested in November and charged with showing obscene Internet photos to a University of South Carolina student. The felony charge carries up to five years in prison.
Greene said he had no comment when asked about the charge Wednesday and hung up on a reporter.
The unemployed veteran posted bond after his arrest. He has yet to enter a plea or be indicted.
What is in the water in South Carolina? Too much fracking? This is what you get with one-party politics (like we have in Philadelphia). The Democrats, as you probably know, are NOT that one party, which is why the Dems gave up altogether on a U.S. Senate race and allowed someone like Greene, who spent no money and doesn't have a campaign website, to sneak in and grab the nomination.
What's agonizing is that no one with valid credentials is challenging DeMint, one of the worst senators in the nation, who cared more about forcing Obama's "Waterloo" than upgrading health care and sees socialists hiding everywhere. I wish someone would brief me on the sorry state of South Carolina poltiics so I'd know whose ass to kick.
