The big story at the polls today is that at least five City Council seats are up for grabs, meaning that the next Council will have the most new faces since 1991.
The 1st, 2nd, 6th and 8th Districts are open because the current office holders are retiring. And the Democrats that win today's primary will likely win the seats. Also open is one of the two minority-part at-large City Council seats, although that battle will continue into the general election. And in the 7th District, Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez is facing a tough challenge from ward leader Danny Savage.
