Throngs of the city's African American politicians made their way to Relish today to discuss the race, voter turnout and who may claim some of the open seats.

State Rep. Dwight Evans said people are coming out. He predicted that in the competitive City Council races Cindy Bass would win in the 8th District, Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez would prevail in the 7th, Martin Bednarek would win in the 6th and state Rep. Kenyatta Johnson in the 2nd. Evans also said he thought state Rep. Jewell Williams would claim the Sheriff's office.

"We're gonna keep working... to keep the momentum up and to get people to come out," Evans said.
