The Princesses's $100,000 Hat

The most flamboyant hat at the Royal Wedding just sold on eBay for $131, 648.

There were many flamboyant hats worn at the wedding (so many that it looked like the Kentucky Derby) but Beatrice's stole the show.

On Sunday the hat sold for $131, 648 on eBay with proceeds going to UNICEF and Children in Crisis, a charity founded by Beatrice's mother.

That's a lot of money for this lofty creation of designer Philip Treacy. Depending on your perspective, the chapeau resembles either the horns of a reebok, or two swans on a lake.

The princess, fifth in line to the throne, hailed the winning bid at this anonymous auction. "I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world," said Beatrice.

What do you think of the now notorious hat: fashion triumph or monstrosity?
