A driver fleeing a reported sex assault in Kensington crashed his car into a wall and died early this morning, police said.
Vincent Pellegrino, 24, of Seltzer Street near Almond Street in Port Richmond, was declared dead on the scene at 1:30 a.m., about 10 minutes after the wreck, police said. A 26-year-old woman who reported a man sexually assaulted her inside a 2004 Nissan Altima on Collins Street near Huntingdon later identified his car as the vehicle she escaped after being assaulted just after 1 a.m., police said.
Investigators determined Pellegrino had been speeding north on Boudinot when he hit a concrete wall on Westmoreland Street next to the McKinley Playground, police said.
