Philadelphia police and the FBI are searching for three brazen suspects who robbed an armored car employee outside of a city bank yesterday.

Philadelphia police and the FBI are searching for three brazen suspects who robbed an armored car employee outside of a city bank yesterday.

The suspects, one armed with a shotgun and the other with a semi-automatic pistol, approached the employee and demanded money outside the PNC bank on Tabor Road near Rising Sun Avenue around noon. Police said the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a maroon mid-2000 model, four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. The getaway car was driven by the third suspect, police said.

Suspect one is described as a black male in his mid 20s, standing 6 feet or taller with a thin build. He was wearing dark clothes, a mask, and was armed with a shotgun. Suspect two is also a black male in his 20s, standing between 5 –foot-8 and 5-foot-10. He was wearing jeans with a white belt, a Puma hooded sweatshirt and was armed with handgun. There is no description of the third suspect.

Garda, the armored carrier service, is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of the stolen funds and the arrest and conviction of those responsible.  Tips can be submitted at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
