Shooting victim shows up at police district

A 23-year-old man who had been shot in the back was able to drive himself to the 35th police district, which covers parts of Logan and Olney, shortly after 3 p.m. today.

A 23-year-old man who had been shot in the back was able to drive himself to the 35th Police District, which covers parts of Logan and Olney, shortly after 3 p.m. today.

Around 3:10 p.m. the man, whose identity has not been released, showed up at the district headquarters on Broad Street near Champlost Avenue with a gunshot wound to the lower-right side of his back, police said. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was placed in extremely critical condition.

According to police, the victim said the initial shooting took place on 67th Avenue near Smedley Street in West Oak Lane, but officers have not yet located a crime scene or an assailant.
