Ardmore’s Tired Hands Brewing Company to release second batch of Ecto Cooler-inspired beer

Ardmore's Tired Hands Brewing Company will retap its nostalgic Nectocooler beer today, releasing a second batch out of its Brew Café location beginning at 4 p.m.

The original batch was brewed over the summer, with Tired Hands taking inspiration from Hi-C's beloved Ecto Cooler — the Ghostbusters tie-in drink for which many children of the '80s and '90s have pined since it was discontinued in 2007. Sadly, the first time around, Nectocooler sold out at Tired Hands before many fans of the drink knew it existed.

Lucky for them, though, Tired Hands owner and brewer Jean Broillet IV is looking out.

"We were equally stoked and freaked out to witness the demand of Nectocooler," he says of the brew. "To me, this beer is equal parts seasonal treat and childhood throwback."

To that end, the recipe for the second batch of Nectocooler was altered to include green tea, which will help mimic the Hi-C original's color, as well as flavor the beer. Additionally, Tired Hands added more nectarines to the mix than last time for a stronger flavor on the fruit end.

This afternoon, Nectocooler will be available in 4-ounce, 8-ounce, and 16-ounce pours on draft. Growler fills will also be available, but are limited to one per customer, and top out at 64 ounces.

Tired Hands' Brew Café opens at 4 p.m., when Nectocooler will be available. However, given the response to the last batch, don't expect this one to last very long.
