East Passyunk chefs collaborate to benefit area police

Chefs of East Passyunk Avenue later this month will host a collaborative dinner benefitting the neighborhood’s police, organizers announced Thursday.

Chefs of East Passyunk Avenue later this month will host a collaborative dinner benefitting the neighborhood's police, organizers announced Thursday.

Taking place Monday, March 21 at Paradiso Restaurant, the event will feature dishes from East Passyunk restaurants and chefs like Laurel's Nick Elmi, Sam Jacobson of Stargazy, and Brigantessa and Le Virtu's Joe Cicala. In total, nine chefs are participating in the event.

Proceeds from the evening will go toward helping "subsidize additional police presence on the Avenue during the summer months," according to a release.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour, complete with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Dinner, which consists of seven courses and is BYOB, begins at 7 p.m.

The full menu is as follows:

·Foie Gras Soup with Pecans and Asian Pear (Lee Styer, Fond)
·Roasted Sunchokes, Fennel Marmalade, Beech Mushrooms, Puffed Beef Tendon (Christopher Kearse, Will BYOB)
·Escargot and Brussels Sprout 'Mange Tout' with Bacon-Sherry Crème Fraiche (Tod Wentz, Townsend)
·Parsnip Tortelloni, Chestnut, Brown Butter, Castelmangno Cheese (Luke Palladino, Palladino's)
·Scallop, Celery Root, Citrus, Truffle (Nick Elmi, Laurel)
·Orata Filet, Tomatoes, Olives, Capers, White Wine (Joe Cicala, Le Virtu and Brigantessa)
·Sticky Toffee Pudding, Lancaster Nutmeg Cream (Sam Jacobson, Stargazy)

Tickets to the event run $200 per person, and are currently available online.
