East Passyunk to kick off Philly Beer Week with Craft Beer Day celebration

Philly Beer Week takes over Philadelphia beginning on June 3, and East Passyunk Avenue will celebrate with its sixth annual Craft Beer Day celebration.

Philly Beer Week takes over Philadelphia beginning on June 3, and East Passyunk Avenue will celebrate with its sixth annual Craft Beer Day celebration.

On Sunday, June 5 beginning at 11 a.m., 13 of East Passyunk's beer-iest bars will host a day of drink specials, beer cocktails, tap takeovers, tastings, street food, and special menus. With staggered openings, attendees are able to celebrate Craft Beer Day across 13 hours of events.

Highlights include a Nodding Head spotlight at Garage, as well as an afternoon of brews from Conshohocken Brewing Company at Plenty. Palladino's will host a Deschutes tap takeover starting at noon. Bing Bing Dim Sum, meanwhile, will feature a Tired Hands pig roast.

The day's festivities will also coincide with the Italian National Day Street Festival, which is also held on East Passyunk Avenue. That event will run 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. between Broad St. and Moore St.

Craft Beer Day's schedule, via a release, is as follows:

  1. POPE: Beer/Ice Cream Floats with Southern Tier Brewing (11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

  2. Stogie Joe's: Outdoor Craft Beer Bar featuring Victory Brewing, street food, and live music (11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

  3. Birra: IPA Tap Takeover Day (11:30 a.m. to midnight)

  4. Noir: $4 Troegs Perpetual IPA with raspberry puree and Schofferhofer Grapefruit and $4 rice balls (12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

  5. Palladino's: Beers on the Patio, Deschutes Tap Takeover Happy Hour (12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

  6. Garage: Brewery spotlight with Nodding Head, games and food cart (12:00 p.m. – midnight) 

  7. Le Virtu: Outdoor Grill in the Garden, with craft beer sampling, including Victory Brewing (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

  8. The Bottle Shop: Craft beer floats with outside beer tub + collaboration cupcakes with Vanilya Bakery (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

  9. Bing Bing Dim Sum: Tired Hands Pig Roast, pork buns and tacos (1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.) 

  10. Lucky 13: Victory Brewing Tap Takeover, and DJ spinning vinyl (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

  11. Fond: Free Will Brewing Company happy hour (2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

  12. Plenty: An afternoon with Conshohocken Brewing Company (3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

  13. Brigantessa: Italian draft specials (4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
