Free rolls to mark new Hai Street Kitchen in University City

Hai Street Kitchen & Co. will open its second Philadelphia location - next to Jake's Sandwich Board at 125 S. 40th St. in University City - on Jan. 16.

Hai Street's stock in trade is the Japanese burrito, a whopping roll filled with all manner of ingredients - Asian and otherwise.

On Jan. 15, starting at noon, the first 300 people in line will get a free roll. It's a preview day.

Customers can "roll-it" or "bowl-it," and can choose white or brown rice. Protein options include chicken, shrimp tempura, steak, salmon, and portobello mushroom.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
