New: Favor will deliver anything to your door for $5

Instacart delivers groceries. Grubhub delivers food.

Starting today in Philadelphia, there's Favor, an app that connects customers to a personal delivery assistant (called a "runner") who will pick up and deliver anything - tacos, groceries, your laundry that you've neglected to pick up.

The Austin-based Favor is starting in neighborhoods such as the Temple area, University City, Northern Liberties, Fishtown, Rittenhouse, Fairmount, Center City, and Old City. Delivery times are targeted for less than an hour but will average 35 minutes, the company said.

Requests are placed through the Favor iPhone or Android app, with a flat delivery fee rate of $5.

Favor service in Philadelphia will be available 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

To mark the Philadelphia launch, first-time customers get a free delivery through the promo code LOVEPHILLY at checkout.
