Nonprofit ACHIEVEability is bringing together some of the biggest chefs in the Greater Philadelphia Area to give us all a little Food for Thought.

Nonprofit ACHIEVEability is bringing together some of the biggest chefs in the Greater Philadelphia Area to give us all a little Food for Thought.

Set for Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at Urban Outfitters' Navy Yard headquarters, the organization's 2016 Food for Thought event serves as a celebration of ACHIEVEability's 35th year working to combat poverty for single parent, low income, and homless families. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting ACHIEVEability's work in that arena.

Roughly two-dozen area chefs will offer tasting portions of their dishes at the event. Confirmed guests include Barbuzzo's Marcie Turney, Justin Swain of REX 1516, Ben Puchowitz at Bing Bing Dim Sum and CheU Noodle Bar, and Peter Woolsey and Kenneth Bush of Bistrot La Minette. A full list of chefs is available here.

In addition to tasting portions, Food for Thought will feature live music, games, and auctions. Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region CEO Marcus Allen, among others, will also be honored for his past work with ACHIEVEability as CEO.

Tickets are available now, and begin at $200 for general admission, though $100 tickets are available for attendees aged 35 or younger. VIP tickets run $350.
