Vino lovers, rejoice: Philly Wine Week is coming.
Organizers this week announced details regarding the event series' kickoff ceremony, Opening Corks, which will begin the festivities starting Sunday, April 3. The evening's theme: "Wines From Around the World."
Hotel Monaco's Stratus Rooftop Lounge will host Opening Corks, which runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that day. More than 25 local and national wine vendors will be on hand to pass out samples, with some 75 wines being offered total.
In addition to the wine, Opening Corks will also feature a champagne bar, as well as a cheese station. Offerings at the latter come from Murray's Cheese, and will be served alongside light snacks from area restaurants.
Tickets for Opening Corks go on sale Tuesday, March 1, and run $45 through March 8. After that point, the price will jump to $55 apiece. A portion of the evening's proceeds will go toward benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia.
A full schedule of the week's events will be released as Philly Wine Week's launch date gets a little closer. In the meantime, you may want to start clearing your schedule.
