Three Philly restaurants make OpenTable's ‘100 Best Restaurants’ list

Reservation site OpenTable has revealed its list of the '100 Best Restaurants in America for 2016," and three Philadelphia eateries made the cut this year.

Bibou, Vetri, and Zahav were all included in OpenTable's list, which was created using data from 10 million reviews of more than 24,000 restaurants from OpenTable users. The list, which is unranked, is presented alphabetically, and includes the top 100 restaurants based on the OpenTable reviews.

While that's a good showing, it actually is a significant decrease compared to 2015's list. Last year, seven Philly restaurants were included: Laurel, Talula's Garden, Vedge, Vernick Food & Drink, Vetri, Volver, and Zahav.

However, while Vetri and Zahav were included on the list in 2015, Bibou is a new addition to this year's roundup, so perhaps folks are exploring a little, culinarily speaking. Restaurants named to the list will receive a "commemorative pan" to mark their inclusion, according to OpenTable.

All three restaurants received four-bell reviews from Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan, and were included on his list of the Top 25 restaurants across the Philadelphia region. That list can be found in Craig LaBan's Ultimate Dining Guide, and is available at philly.com/store for $5.95.
