Two hurt in city hit-and-runs in city, cab sought in one case

Police are searching for an Old City cab that struck a bicyclist this morning in South Philadelphia and kept going.

Inquirer staff writer Wallace McKelvey reports:

Police are searching for two cars -- including an Old City cab -- involved in separate hit-and-runs that left two people injured in the city overnight.

The cabbie is wanted for hitting a female bicyclist this morning at Broad and Federal Street  in South Philadelphia and driving off about 2:45 a.m.. The 25-year-old victim suffered minor injuries and was treated a Jefferson University Hospital. Police say the black and white cab probably has front-end damage.

Earlier, a man was struck while crossing at the the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Rhawn Street at 1 a.m. in Rhawnhurst. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. The vehicle drove off.
