Facade falls from historic TV building, closing Walnut Street

Three sections of marble facade stone fell overnight from the top of a building that once housed KYW-TV and the studio for for the Mike Douglas Show at 1619 Walnut Street, spreading debris below and closing the street to traffic during the morning rush hour.
Each panel, measuring approximately three by six feet each, fell about 80 feet from what is now called The Broadcast Building.
No one was injured, police said.
Traffic was detoured at 15th Street.
