New president for West Chester U

The Associated Press reports:

A University of North Dakota administrator has been hired as the 14th president of West Chester University.

The governing board of Pennsylvania's state-owned universities today approved the hiring of UND provost and vice president Greg Weisenstein.

Weisenstein has been UND's chief academic officer since 2005 and was previously dean of Montana State University's education college.

Weisenstein will replace Madeleine Wing Adler, who was West Chester's presidents for nearly 16 years before she retired in June.

Linda Lamwers has served as the school's interim president since July.

West Chester enrolls about 13,600 students.
