Toomey: Oil $ does Not Influence My Positions
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey says that his support for offshore oil drilling has nothing to do with campaign donations from the industry, in interview with KDKA-TV of Pittsburgh.
Republican Senate candidate Pat Toomey has received a little less than $100,000 from oil companies during his career, but that didn't influence his position in favor of continuing to drill for oil offshore, he said Thursday in an interview with KDKA-TV's Jon Delano.
He shrugged off $2,500 from Halliburton given the day after the Deepwater Horizon spill began in the Gulf, saying he wouldn't expect the company to stop its political contributions.
