Children’s Hospital earns top ranks again

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was ranked among the elite pediatric medical centers in the nation again this year by the magazine U.S. News & World Report. For the second straight year, the magazine did not award a overall top ranking, but examined children’s hospitals in 10 categories of care – cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, heart and heart surgery, kidney, neonatology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology. Children’s, commonly called CHOP, ranked first in three of the 10 categories, second in four others and third in two. The hospital was ranked sixth in the kidney care, the only category in which it dropped out of the top three.
