In an interview this morning on WHYY, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey offhandedly referred to the city's five-year budget deficit as a

$1.4

billion gap, which is, oh, $400 million larger than any figure cited so far by the Nutter administration.

Mayor Nutter and Finance Director Rob Dubow have been warning that the gap will grow above $1 billion, but they have not yet cited a number. Is Ramsey in error? Or did he let slip the figure that Nutter's team is using internally?

Update

: Dubow writes that the city does not yet have a new figure for the budget deficit, and that his guess is Ramsey just got the number wrong.
