Viva Harrisburg

Another day, another gaffe from Governor Corbett.

Maybe Tom Corbett needs to go back to his earlier incarnation as Governor Garbo, a man who said little in public.

In his latest wingtip-in-mouth episode, Corbett slighted Latinos at a Union League event — and this cannot be stressed enough — designed to reach out specifically to the Latino community and sponsored by Al Dia News Media.

Asked if he had any Latinos in his ever-changing cabinet, Corbett stumbled, "If you can find us one, please let me know."

Just one?

Perhaps the governor is spending too much time in Frackylvania with big-pocketed donors, and not enough with people who actually vote.

Al Dia managing editor Sabrina Vourvoulias, who moderated the event, said "I am sure that there are Latinos that ..." when Corbett interrupted her.

He asked, "Do any of you want to come to Harrisburg?"

Well, maybe not with that attitude.

Or maybe when it comes to working in the state capital, to quote the governor in a gaffe about women and a mandatory ultrasound bill, "You just have to close your eyes."
