Chance wins triple jump at MOC

Glassboro senior Ryan Chance won the triple jump at the Meet of Champions tonight at South Plainfield.

Chance went 47-7 to capture an event that was dominated by South Jersey athletes. Haddon Height's Chris Roundtree took second, Penns Grove's Steve Brown took fourth and Timber Creek's Eric Smith took fifth.

Haddonfield junior Colin Baker set a school record by running 4:09.30 to take second in the 1600 meters. The old record was 4:15.5 by Chris Platt set in 2002.

Washington Township's Tim Carey was the top seed in the 400 meters hurdles but fell twice. He crashed over the 2nd hurdle, got up and fell again over the 8th hurdle.

Carey finished the race.
