Bracket, a clinical-trial services company based in Wayne, says it has acquired Clinapps Inc., an Irvine, Calif. firm that writes software for drug and biotech companies. Bracket agreed to pay a price the firm won't disclose to owners Tim Elliott and Michelle Niles, who founded CLINapps in 1999.
Bracket, started in 2004, is owned by Parthenon Capital Partners, of Boston and San Francisco, who purchased the firm from Express Scripts Inc. in 2013. Express in 2014 told the SEC it received $22.1 million for the business.
The combined companies will employ 700, including 175 at the Wayne headquarters and offices, 125 at offices in the Trevose area, and 400 at other sites, including the San Diego area and Hyderabad, India. Clinapps will now report to Jim Primerano, general manager of Brackett's eClinical division.
Bracket plans ""aggressive hiring and growth across the entire business," according to a statement from Bracket's Adam Butler. (updated)
