Gov. Corbett's Christmas giveaway: $133 million for developers, industry, private institutions

State will give South Philly refinery another $5 million

Just in time for Christmas, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett's administration has posted the names of 58 developers, industrial plants, corporate and nonprofit hospitals, museums, private colleges and other institutions that will share $133 million in state matching grants for favored projects across the Commonwealth. It's the latest installment of the Redevelopment Authority Capital Program grants, a program that's been popular with lawmakers and developers since the 1980s. Read the list at

Philadelphia-area giveaways include:
Bucks County: 
- $1.8 million for the Warminster Community Park Recreation Center
Chester County:
- $750,000 for a Chester County Historical Society Revitalization Project
- $1 million for Carlino East Brandywine LP's East Brandywine development
- $1.5 million for Hankin Group's "Innovation Center at Eagleville" offices
- $2 million for Uptown Worthington, developer Brian O'Neill's East Whiteland Township project
Delaware County:
- $1.5 million for Neuman University's Bruder Life Center addition
Montgomery County:
- $1.5 million for Academy in Manayunk's AIM Recreation and Arts Center
- $1.75 million for Atlantic City Linen Supply's new plant
- $2 million for Realen Broad Street Partners LP's Aloft Philadelphia at the Convention Center hotel
- $3 million for Childrens' Hospital of Philadelphia's Ambulatory Care Center, Phase 2
- $1.5 million for Philadelphia Zoo's Big Cat Falls Trailway System
- $4 million for expansion at Fox Chase Cancer Center
- $750,000 for Lutheran Theological Seminary's "Campus Economic Development Initiative"
- $5 million for the new Catalytic Cracker at Carlyle Group/Sunoco's Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery and gas plant on the Schuylkill 
- $2 million for "improvement" at the Prince Music Theater
- $3 million for expansion at Tenet's St. Christopher's Hospital for Children
- $2.8 million for "campus and community improvements" at St. Joseph's University
- $1.5 million for the Temple Heart and Vascular Center at Temple University Hospital
- $1 million for the Physician Assistant Program at Thomas Jefferson University
