Jeff Rotwitt: Philly dealmaker as movie mogul

He's out of his longtime Philadelphia law job, but Jeff Rotwitt has moved his dealmaking onto a bigger stage

Almost a year after he had to leave the Obermayer law firm after the Inquirer pointed out that he was working for both sides of the state's plan to build a new Family Court (people on both sides already knew, but it became an issue when it got in the papers), Main Line lawyer Jeffrey Rotwitt is busy as head of the $85-million, partly state-funded Sun Center movie studio in Delaware County.
He says Sun is about to land a big-time Hollywood feature movie as its first big tenant. Rotwitt has built an unusual coalition to support the project: Sun Center was built (on the site of Sunoco's old 33-acre rec and party center) with major support from Gov. Corbett and local Republicans and taxpayer funding, plus financial backing from Rotwitt's labor-union and investment-world backers.
