March may have started cold and icy, but Philly's St. Patrick's Day celebrations will soon warm you and have your Irish eyes smiling. And it is not all beer drinking and parade watching that is on tap either. Here are some St. Paddy's Day fun fitness events that are good for the body and soul. Do you have all your green attire picked out?

Sacred Heart Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run

Sacred Heart School in Havertown is getting in the Irish spirit with its Shamrock Shuffle 5K Run and Family Fun Walk on Saturday, March 7. The festivities will start at the school starting at 10:30 a.m. The Family Fun Walk will take you through the streets of Manoa, while the 5K will take you further into Havertown. Proceeds will be used to fund upgrades to the school's infrastructure. Registration is $30 per person, $35 day of the run. There is a family rate of $65, $70 day of the Shuffle.

Mt. Holly St. Patrick's Parade 5k Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk

On Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. before the Burlington Co. St. Patrick's Parade, you can get some exercise in with the Mt. Holly St. Patrick's Parade 5k Run and 1 Mile Family Fun Walk which will take you through historic downtown Mt. Holl. Registration is $40.

St. Patrick's Day Shock Run

Bringing awareness to the importance of AEDs (automatic external defibrillators), the Village Tavern in North Wales uses the Shock Run to raise money to buy defibrillators for local companies, organizations and even private homes. Enjoy a free pint of Guinness and lunch after the race. This year's race is Sunday, March 8. Registration starts at 8:30 and costs $35 day of race (with t-shirt), $30 (without t-shirt).

Conshohocken St. Paddy's Day 5K Classic

This is the second annual race to help raise funds for the Conshohocken Fire Co. #2. The fire company partnering with Bryn Mawr Racing Company will be hosting this event that will kick off the annual parade that takes place on Fayette St. on Saturday, March 14. The 5K starts at 10:30 a.m. Funds will also benefit the Philadelphia Distance Run Scholarship Fund. Registration will take place at Joseph Burns Plaza, 54 Fayette St. Registration is $25 (after March 12 it will be $35).

The Leprechaun Run

In its 30th year, The Leprechaun Run returns to the Art Museum area on Saturday, March 14 at 9 a.m. With a 5 mile run and a 2 mile walk, there is something for everybody. Bring the whole family out for some St. Patrick's Day fun and support the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. The course starts on MLK Drive near the Art Museum. Registration is $35 for the 5 mile run and $25 for the 2 mile walk.

Second Annual Shake Your Shamrock

Life is good, GNS along with Scoogie Events, Iron Hill Brewery and Harvest Season Grill is hosting the second annual Shake Your Shamrock festive runs (8K, 5K, Kids' Run) followed by the "Shake Your Shamrock Festival" on Saturday, March 14 starting at 2 p.m. The 8K and 5K start and finish at Iron Hill Brewery and the Shoppes at English Village in North Wales. Looney Leprechaun 10K Trail Race and 2 Mile Fun Run

Starting at the Center for the Arts in Richboro, this course will take you through Tyler State Park on Saturday, March 14. The fun starts at 9:30 a.m. Stay after for the post race party at Chow284. Registration is $32.

St. Patrick's Day 5K Warminster

Keep the festivities going all weekend with the St. Patrick's Day 5K at the Warminster Community Park on Sunday, March 15 starting at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $37.50.

St. Patrick's Day 5K Fun Run

The Delta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega is hosting its St. Patrick's Day 5K Fun Run on Saturday, March 21. Funds raised will help support MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance), a local non-profit that provides meals for those suffering from life-threatening diseases. You are encouraged to dress in your best green attire and come out and enjoy a brisk run and some live performances. The run will start at 8:30 a.m. at Penn Park. Tickets are now $20.
