Allen misses Nets workout due to injury
As someone known for disappearing during games, Lavoy Allen needs impressive pre-draft workouts to make an NBA team.
But it's extremely hard to impress front-office personnel if you're unable to compete.
Due to a sprained left ankle, the Temple power forward couldn't partake in Monday's workout with the New Jersey Nets in East Rutherford, N.J.
"It's definitely a bummer," Allen told the Associated Press after watching four players go through drills. "I wanted to do as many workouts as I could and perform well at all of them. Just sitting down and watching these guys work out is definitely not a good thing."
The 6-foot-9, 225-pounder injured his ankle during Saturday's workout for the 76ers. It is unlikely that he'll be available for Wednesday's workout with the New York Knicks.
There's a possibility that the Pennsbury High product will be ready for next week's workouts with the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers.
"Coming into this whole workout thing, they were talking about me being as a late second-round pick or going undrafted," Allen told the Associated Press about the June 23 draft. "There is a good possibility I won't get drafted at all. Right now, I am just playing for a position in the draft. I want to get as high as I can. I really don't care. I just want to be drafted."
